Russian Empire

Published by Postal Shop / Printed in Russia, 2014

Postmarked 10th May 2015, from Svetlana n Russia, via Postcrossing

A rather jingoistic delivery from Svetlana showing the vastness of the Russian Empire (including states that are now independent of the motherland). It strikes me as a perfect example of ‘less-is-more’. Svetlana writes of her hometown, Chelyabinsk, an industrial city on the cusp of Asia and Europe most notable, she says, as the landing site for a meteorite that crashed to Earth in 2013.
