Matt Gaser: Morton’s Crawl
“This painting started out as a little pen doodle. When I began painting in Photoshop CS2, I saw more of a narrative coming through,” says Matt. “Morton is the guy piloting the machine. He’s a sophisticated librarian who loves to tinker with all things mechanical in his spare time. Morton’s wife, Tweed, followed by a wandering traveler, stands in the road watching the first test run of a beast of a machine Morton calls The Crawl. The great race of Tag Ton is only several months away, an explosive challenge of steam-powered vehicles that compete across a seven-day, all-terrain course: Morton’s Crawl is almost ready!”
